Shadow of the Erdtree Receives Praise as One of the Best Games of 2022
Elden Ring has garnered widespread acclaim and is considered one of the standout games of 2022. Its exceptional performance is evident from the numerous Game of the Year awards it has won.
FromSoftware has now confirmed the release date of Elden Ring’s first trailer, slated for June 21, 2024, and has also posted a unique trailer to announce DLC. However, if you’re in the market to preorder the game, we have some details regarding the editions and costs of Shadow of the Erdtree.
Finally, we got our first full look at Elden Ring: Shadow of the Earthtree, an expansive extension of the critically acclaimed 2022 open-world game praised by FromSoftware’s reviewers. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait much longer for it as the publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed its release on June 21.
Trailer Gameplay and Details
The Elden Ring: Shadow of the Earthtree trailer is packed with gameplay, showcasing new areas for players to explore, several different bosses and combat encounters, and some stunning new weapons. One standout boss includes a giant burning tree man, a large hippo-like creature capable of spewing fire from its body, and a powerful-looking flaming crossbow weapon. The trailer also shows the player dying multiple times, suggesting that Elden Ring may offer a more satisfying, albeit challenging, gameplay loop compared to its predecessor.
It’s challenging to glean much about the story from this trailer; however, the description in the trailer details reads, “In the land of shadows, Mikaela awaits the return of the promised god.”

In Elden Ring, players will traverse freely between the Lands Between and the Land of Shadow, encountering all sorts of new fantastical horrors and dreadful wonders. I’ve indulged shamelessly and bought a collector’s edition for myself, which includes a splendid statue of Mesmer.
